I go through this depression of being almost 40 and not being where I "thought" I would be at 40 (kids, my own house, a successful career in an "important job", travelling the world etc etc). I try so hard to be thankful for all the wonderful things in my life and not be sad for my "wants". It is so HARD sometimes to not be self centered and not be wanting more. I am constantly reminded how rich my life is (both my parents still alive and 10 minutes from where I live, my wonderful best friend of a husband) and how I need to love my life and what I have and not what I do not. My dilemma is I feel the "dreams" or plans I had for my life are not going to happen. I have to realize that what I "planned" might not be the path I am going to take. It is a huge challenge and I battle it every day...I keep reading posts such as yours that actually are helping me with this and I am great full.Blisshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07443545457733722462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1790259204654194796.post-57906567109804648412011-09-22T13:15:17.658-07:002011-09-22T13:15:17.658-07:00I have a phrase I use on myself and sometimes othe...I have a phrase I use on myself and sometimes others. "First World Problem..." Owning expensive horses is a first world problem. Pulled fire alarms is a first world problem. Losing your husband to football on the weekends is a first world problem.Jeffrey Hultenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11354997167134357269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1790259204654194796.post-78234099238142454272011-09-22T12:50:11.584-07:002011-09-22T12:50:11.584-07:00Right now I think your job is to educate people. We are used to seeing infomercials and statistics which are easy to disregard. You make us SEE the people and the state in which they have to try and survive.Lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12009207739640837615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1790259204654194796.post-49211287196059766992011-09-22T10:49:40.571-07:002011-09-22T10:49:40.571-07:00Beautiful, Tiff.

God did indeed bless us, but we squandered that blessing and have made a mockery out of His grace. He loves us, but not more than He loves them. And something tells me that He's busy painting their heavenly houses...so many of us have had all the blessing we will ever have, here on earth. In reality, that's the scary part...that's it's so easy for gospel drenched Americans to reject Jesus because they have no real need of God.

Blessed are the poor in spirit. Blessed are the ones whom the affluent and successful pity. Blessed are those who need merely glimpse the Christ and wholeheartedly chase Him until their sweet, long anticipated death.

But I'm not telling you anything you don't know. Somehow, eternity takes the sting out of the world's injustice, for me. I long for heaven. **And I'd LOVE to go to Africa with you!:)**Mrs. Valentehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13797631451398420550noreply@blogger.com
